Creating Your Legacy
Last night Alicia and I watched the movie Troy and I got to thinking about a line that Brad Pitt's character Achilles said.
Essentially, a young boy had been sent to retrieve Achilles and bring him to fight a man that could only be described as giant. The boy was obviously fearful of the large man and said he would not want to fight if it was him. Achilles simply said, "that is why no one will remember your name".

A Society of Miltons

As a species, men are giving in to conformity and mediocrity at an alarming rate. Gone are the days of land living, John Wayne bravado, only to be replaced by "Miltonesque" passive aggressive behaviours, and other traits that men long ago scoffed at.
Men need to reclaim their true selves as women have done in the last 30 years or so. Not to take control but to work together with our women and better our society by erasing the stigmas that have crept up lately regarding what it is to be male in the 21st century.
It is not a bad thing to be male by far. We just need to start doing it better.
